        Manager/Senior Manager - DESIS Finance (DESRI)

        Join our DESIS Finance team in Hyderabad

        We are looking for an accounting and finance professional to join our Corporate Finance team based out of the firm’s office in Hyderabad, India. This team is responsible for legal entity bookkeeping, financial reporting, statutory compliance, financial planning and analysis. The team also caters to various ad-hoc financial and non-financial projects/analysis from time to time for the D. E. Shaw group’s Indian entities.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

        You will be managing the controllership function for one of the D. E. Shaw group Indian entities. You will be responsible to manage and drive financial controls, statutory and regulatory compliances, accounting and audits, accounts payable, payroll, and treasury functions in line with the organization’s guidelines. You will be collaborating with multiple teams, the Board of Directors, and internal and external stakeholders (vendors, bankers, auditors, consultants, etc.). Additionally, you will be responsible to drive the accuracy and completeness of accounting and month-end processes and ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements (including direct taxes, indirect taxes, corporate laws, STPI regulations, and other applicable laws). Furthermore, you will also supervise the accounts payable and payroll functions and manage the preparation of standard and ad-hoc reports for senior management. You will be responsible for leading the firm-wide budget and forecasting process. Additionally, you will be responsible for analyzing expense trends, creating financial/non-financial dashboards, and simulation models to meet dynamic business requirements. You will also be catering to various ad-hoc requests based on business requirements.

        Who we’re looking for

        Basic qualifications:

        • A Chartered Accountant and a Company Secretary with 5-7 years of experience
        • A good knowledge of Indian GAAP/IndAS and tax rules and regulations requirements
        • A prior proven track record of being a financial controller in a large MNC
        • A good exposure to accounting activities using an ERP system
        • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, self-motivation, keen attention to detail
        • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
        • Prior experience in managing and mentoring teams
        • The ability to work under pressure and with tight, non-negotiable timelines
