        We are seeking a Background Verification (BGV) Operations Specialist to join our Global Recruitment Operations (GRO) team in Hyderabad or Bengaluru, which is a part of the Talent Acquisition (TA) team. The team offers a challenging work environment and excellent opportunities to learn and grow within the Human Capital function while collaborating with key stakeholders across geographies to play a significant role in supporting the firm’s recruitment efforts.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

        You will be responsible for conducting various complex operations that support global recruitment across geographies, including India and New York, for the D. E. Shaw group. You will need to ensure delivery of highquality work within stipulated timelines and interact with the larger Talent Acquisition team based in India and New York. These would include, but are not limited to, performing various recruitment operations tasks. You will maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and other recruitment databases, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulations. You will serve as the primary point of contact for candidates and stakeholders, providing timely updates and information throughout the recruitment process to keep all parties informed and engaged. You will be leading the BGV efforts, acting as an SME on the process. Furthermore, a significant part of the candidate's role will involve managing background verifications on potential employees and maintaining these records in an organized and confidential manner. You will be expected to exhibit robust expertise in designing and reengineering processes. You will review and ensure the accuracy of these processes, ensuring that vendors meet performance standards and compliance requirements. You will ensure adherence to all relevant laws and regulations regarding background verification and address any discrepancies or issues found during the process. Additionally, you will work closely with the BGV vendor to monitor status checks and ensure the vendor adheres to the turnaround time (TAT). Staying updated on best practices and emerging trends in background verification, you will continuously work towards process improvement.

        Who we’re looking for

        • A graduate degree with a minimum of 4-7 years of experience.
        • Robust understanding of background verification processes and legal requirements
        • Proficiency with background verification software and tools
        • The ability to oversee sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity
        • A keen eye for detail and process, along with the ability to work in an ever-changing environment
        • Experience in a corporate or large-scale background verification environment
        • The capability of working in a demanding environment, managing tasks of varying complexities and timelines, in an operational setup
        • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
        • Proficient communication skills
