The D. E. Shaw group uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative tools to uncover independent, hard-to-find sources of return across global public and private markets. We are seeking a Technical Product Manager to join our Legal and Compliance team based in the firm’s offices in Hyderabad/Bengaluru/Gurugram to assist with the development and implementation of software systems in the regulatory compliance space. This position affords the opportunity for broad exposure to the firm’s trading, operations, and software development groups, as well as the chance to manage real-time issues related to the firm’s expanding suite of global investment products in a fast-paced, constantly evolving regulatory environment.
Basic qualifications:
A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field
5+ years of experience in product management
Experience in managing product roadmaps, from conception to launch, and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, business, and other front- and back-office teams
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Knowledge of financial markets and trading, including understanding of financial securities, front and back-office systems, market data, and industry regulations
Preferred qualifications:
A Master’s degree in finance or equivalent
The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively and strategically
Exceptional project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Hands-on development experience in programming languages, such as Python or Java, and databases, such as SQL
Experience with Agile/Scrum
Experience in financial technology or hedge funds
Experience with technical writing and creating technical documentation
Experience with trading platforms
