        Manager - Product Management Group - Compliance

        Join our Financial Operations team in Hyderabad, Bengaluru or Gurugram

        The D. E. Shaw group uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative tools to uncover independent, hard-to-find sources of return across global public and private markets. We are seeking a Technical Product Manager to join our Legal and Compliance team based in the firm’s offices in Hyderabad/Bengaluru/Gurugram to assist with the development and implementation of software systems in the regulatory compliance space. This position affords the opportunity for broad exposure to the firm’s trading, operations, and software development groups, as well as the chance to manage real-time issues related to the firm’s expanding suite of global investment products in a fast-paced, constantly evolving regulatory environment.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

        You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, working closely with engineering, design, business, and other front- and back-office teams to develop and launch new products and features. Additionally, you will develop and maintain the product roadmap, working with senior leadership in Compliance to create a strategic product roadmap that aligns with the firm's overall goals and objectives. This roadmap will be continuously updated based on user feedback, project prioritization, and other factors. You will conduct technical design and architecture reviews to ensure that these align with the product roadmap and meet end-user needs. You will work with engineering teams to address any technical challenges and ensure that products are delivered on time and as per specifications. Continuously monitoring product usage and user feedback, you will identify areas for improvement and use data to make informed decisions about product development and prioritization. This includes identifying technical debt and developing plans to address it in a timely manner. In addition, you will develop and maintain product documentation, including product requirements documents, user guides, and other necessary documentation. Conducting product training and enablement will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that stakeholders have the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively use the product suite. As a subject matter expert, you will stay up to date on industry trends and provide expertise for the product suite. Managing product launches will be another key responsibility, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and prepared for the launch. Finally, you will manage project backlogs, prioritizing features and enhancements based on end-user feedback and business needs.

        Who we’re looking for

        Basic qualifications:

        • A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field

        • 5+ years of experience in product management

        • Experience in managing product roadmaps, from conception to launch, and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, business, and other front- and back-office teams

        • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

        • Knowledge of financial markets and trading, including understanding of financial securities, front and back-office systems, market data, and industry regulations

           

         

        Preferred qualifications:

        • A Master’s degree in finance or equivalent

        • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

        • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively and strategically

        • Exceptional project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

        • Hands-on development experience in programming languages, such as Python or Java, and databases, such as SQL

        • Experience with Agile/Scrum

        • Experience in financial technology or hedge funds

        •  Experience with technical writing and creating technical documentation

        • Experience with trading platforms
