        Associate Director - Business Partner (Human Capital)

        Join our Human Capital team in Hyderabad

        We are seeking a Human Capital Business Partner (HCBP) to lead our business teams from the firm's office in Hyderabad, India. The candidate will lead the HCBP teams and be responsible for enabling and implementing the firm's people engagement, development, and retention strategies. The candidate will contribute at both hands-on and strategic levels to help the firm with employee matters, play a key role in advocating and shaping D. E. Shaw India's culture and values and guide senior leaders on Human Capital (HC) matters with creative and effective ideas and solutions. The candidate will have a team to support them in their journey and will be responsible for leading and mentoring the team. They will motivate, develop, and retain team members while honing their skills.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

        You will play a pivotal role in aligning human capital initiatives with business objectives and serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders and managers across the firm. You will provide expert guidance on all aspects of HC, including talent management, performance management, employee retention, change management, and more. This role requires a robust blend of strategic thinking, hands-on execution, and the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of the firm. You will work closely with senior leadership to develop and execute talent strategies that drive business results. This will involve spearheading talent management efforts, overseeing retention and development initiatives, onboarding, talent reviews, and career development. You will be a trusted advisor to our leaders on various HC matters. Additionally, you will play a critical role in promoting employee engagement and resolving employee-related issues. Your influence will be vital in enhancing team productivity, effectiveness, and culture and driving organizational resilience through change management strategies. You will oversee day-to-day HCBP operations and continuously use data driven insights to improve our talent programs and processes. You will collaborate closely with other HC functions to deliver integrated talent solutions that meet the diverse needs of the business. You will also coach, mentor, and develop team members to ensure the success of the HCBP function. You must have excellent communication and leadership skills to succeed in this role. You should collaborate effectively with different stakeholders, build steady relationships with business leaders, and provide guidance and support to the HCBP team. You should also have a deep understanding of HR best practices, talent management, and change management.

        Who we’re looking for

        Basic Qualifications: 

        • The candidate should have a Master's degree in Human Resources and possess relevant experience of 14 to 16 years
        • The ideal candidate should have experience partnering with senior leaders to develop and execute HR strategies that drive business results
        • Candidate should possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
        • The candidate should possess excellent knowledge of HR best practices, solid judgment, and experience assessing risk relative to the business
        • The ideal candidate should demonstrate empathy and experience to drive diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies
        • The candidate should be able to lead and develop a team of HR professionals
        • Candidates should be strategic thinkers comfortable with ambiguity, working within constraints, and challenging the status quo as desired
        • The ideal candidate should have robust analytical and problemsolving skills and the ability to analyze data, understand trends, and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis
        • Candidate should be proactive, self-motivated, autonomous, flexible, discreet, and exhibit multitasking and anticipatory thinking abilities
