        Join our Management Company Accounting team in Hyderabad

        We are currently seeking an Analyst to join our Management Company Accounting (Accounts Payable) team in Hyderabad, India. This team plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records for all D. E. Shaw entities. Additionally, the team is responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable process, including payments to vendors and employees. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to global accounting practices, collaborate with senior management, auditors, and other stakeholders, and develop a comprehensive understanding of day-to-day workflow management.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

        In this position, you will facilitate and oversee the efficient processing and timely payment of workflow, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. You will also act as a representative for the team in meetings with senior management, actively engaging in discussions, activities, and initiatives that contribute to the team's progress. In addition, you will effectively manage the Accounts Payables cycle, including tasks such as receiving invoices, processing payments, and maintaining accurate documentation including vendor management and responding to inquiries as per company policies, processing payments by entering/uploading invoices, maintaining necessary documentation, and adhering to accounts payables policies, reconciling and resolving invoice discrepancies, verifying entries, and reconciling vendor accounts, preparing payment forecasts, assisting with month-end closing activities, and generating monthly reports, ensuring compliance with accounts payables policies, flagging unusual invoices, and obtaining necessary approvals and provide supporting documentation for audits. You will also drive process enhancements by coordinating with the development team and internal team members, leveraging their expertise and experience. Furthermore, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing reports for senior management, interacting with various groups across the firm (e.g., executive assistance, front office, financial operations, systems, purchasing), and developing and maintaining excellent working relationships to ensure understanding of processes and cooperation.

        Who we’re looking for

        • The ideal candidate should be an MBA graduate with 0-3 years of relevant experience in an Accounts Payable role
        • The candidate should be self-motivated with excellent follow-through, analytical and problem-solving skills, quick learning ability, and exceptional attention to detail
        • Candidate should have the ability to handle multiple tasks, organize, and prioritize ongoing projects effectively
        • The candidate should have proficiency in MS Excel and excellent analytical skills
        • The ideal candidate should also have effective written and verbal communication skills to successfully interact with various stakeholders
        • Candidates with working knowledge of analytical tools like Alteryx, PowerBI, etc. will have an added advantage
