What We Do

DESIS is an integral part of the D. E. Shaw group's work in investment management and technology development. DESIS' work may be divided into two broad disciplines—Information Technology and Financial Research & Operations. Employees frequently collaborate on projects that span disciplines. This interdisciplinary approach allows the staff to learn about many aspects of the firm, from the application of sophisticated computational techniques to cutting-edge financial concepts.
